broken onlineThe closed beta of starts next Wednesday, April 6th.

The announcement of the beta date was accompanied by a new Dev Diary video, What is Fractured Online and Why You Should Play It, which will catch the eye of anyone unfamiliar with it broken online at full speed. For those who have been paying attention to the number of significant revelations so far this year, the video is a good refresher and the first of a planned series.

The closed beta will feature the recently revealed continent of Aerhen, inhabited primarily by humans, and will test players in the mountainous and frigid lands that offer many opportunities and many dangers. If you’re looking for some challenges then the Mammoths, Wolves, Jotunns and Elementals can provide you with those too if the weather isn’t enough to stop you.

The closed beta means 24/7 servers and those with access can jump in at any time. Access to the beta requires the purchase of a Founder’s Pack, which will let you into the beta and all future stages, including final launch. Founder’s Packs come in a variety of price tiers and discounts.

Since this is a closed beta test, you can expect the developers to start testing new features and changes, adjusting what they have so far to bring more players into the game and more community feedback and get data.

If you participated in previous tests such as Alpha Weekend, all character data will be deleted before the closed beta begins. And all beta data will be wiped out before final launch whenever that is determined.

The start of the closed beta also lifts all streaming restrictions, so we should expect to see more broken online pretty soon.
