There are some more detailed information from Fractured Online group about some things to expect in the game. This time around, the update highlights some of what player-controlled towns and settlements will be like.
Your specific play style will take effect as you can choose to be a lone wolf and claim the land outside, but players who want to play more cooperatively can start meddling together or join an arrangement in an open location.
If you join an arrangement, your membership is called citizenship so it is not related to guild membership and the two exist separately. So you can expand your in-game social circles this way. And for those who want a taste of power, the settlements will have governors. If you can recruit at least 19 players to join your mediation, you can claim that role, which gives you some decision-making power.
Another benefit of being able to recruit 19 players? You can then claim a spot in town as you need a minimum party of 20 players to start a new town. Well, it won’t start as a town, as this settlement system has three stages and 15 ranks to earn. You will start with a hamlet, then progress to a village, and finally a town. There are a number of predefined town areas located where villages or cities once existed prior to the Fault Event. You can also decide to become governor. You can also choose to set up and live in a residential area outside of the actual town, with fewer responsibilities than town dwellers and different options.
With an emphasis on player decisions about race, trait, and skill, it’s not too surprising that Dynamight has decided to put the town in the player’s direction. They want everyone to be able to play as they want, but also put a lot of weight on the issue of decision. You’ll have to choose wisely as you can only have one mediation membership per account, so any characters you create will be part of that mediation.
Even with so many player driven activities, there are several NPC towns on each continent, they are your player hub or you can find a way to cover most of your basic needs .
