Fractured Online’s temperature and weather systems add new challenges and strategies

That broken online Team highlights the weather and temperature systems. The temperature system goes live with today’s closed beta update, while the weather system follows next week.
When it comes to broken online, the development team has always talked about challenges and making sensible choices, and this is reflected in everything from the skills you want to learn to the variety of races and terrain with different biomes. When it comes to challenges, making the world seem real will add to the choices you have to make, knowing there will be consequences.
In-game temperature is based on three factors: biome, time of day, and weather. These affect the different temperature ranges that occur at that location. Different biomes have a general base range and different potential temperature ranges, which are also affected by the time of day. Then comes the influence of the weather. For example, if you’re in an extremely hot biome (more on that in a moment), you might find it more beneficial to move around there at night or when it’s raining.
You need to consider potential status effects when deciding where to adventure or get what you need. Chilled and Warm are states you can achieve when venturing into an area that is too hot or too cold for your breed’s temperature tolerance (since they are all different). These will occur and increase to a maximum of 100 stacks. Frozen and Warmed are more brutal states, but they are not created solely from thermal stress, but rather from other tools such as player spells. When it comes to countering temperature effects, you can always switch to a more appropriate range or find good gear that will protect you from the right effect. The team will also add potions that you can use to help yourself when you get into trouble.
Weather will also affect temperature, and we will see clouds appearing in different zones, which will also determine weather events, including precipitation, strong winds, and even storms. The weather generally depends on the planet and the continent. Each cloud that appears has a circular range and affects all terrain within that circle. The intensity is greatest in the middle of the circle, and it becomes a little calmer towards the edges. Weather events are location dependent. Currently, all cloud spawns have a negative impact on temperature, but they’re looking at adding additional special events that could shake things up, like acid rain or meteors.
