France reopens to British tourists ‘within the next few days’

FRANCE will reopen to the UK within days, just weeks after the new travel restrictions are in place.
French MP Alexandre Holroyd said the border would open “very soon” to tourists and holidaymakers.
He added that more information regarding the scrapped rules will be published in the next few days.
And senior travel sources said a decision to reopen to British tourists could be “within hours”. Time reported.
A ski operator has restarted trips from the UK to France this weekend, saying it hopes Britons will be able to enter the country “from Saturday”.
And that’s great news for families who are planning a half-term vacation Disneyland Paris, if restrictions are eased next month.
France has has loosened some rules, including for business trips and traveling through the county.
The French consul last week said: “As of January 6, 2022, the list of compelling reasons is expanded.
“In particular, business trips in both directions and transit through France to their homeland in the EU are facilitated.”
France announced travel ban on December 16, stating that all arrivals must have an “essential reason to travel to or from the UK, both unvaccinated and vaccinated”.
Other countries are also starting to relax their travel rules, now that Omicron has grown across Europe.
Germany lifts travel ban about UK tourists only few weeks after recommending it.
Destinations like Cyprus and Spain still require Covid testing, even from people who have been vaccinated.
And Morocco and Hong Kong have yet to lift their UK travel ban.
