European Commission Executive Vice President Frans Timmermans has tested positive for COVID-19, an EU spokesman said on Tuesday.
According to a second person who works with Timmermans, the 60-year-old Green Deal director tested positive on Monday, after spending time motor weekend for his Dutch Labor party in this week’s local elections.
Organizers said the Timmermans had been scheduled to speak Tuesday at a major agricultural conference, the Forum for the Future of Agriculture, but was canceled because he was feeling unwell.
