Roy Keane has never backed down when it comes to moving forward with his views on Manchester United.
The former captain of the Reds has often been harsh when criticizing today’s stars during his work as a professional.
Midfielder Fred often finds himself in range, and although Keane does a partial turn After his goal against Leeds at the weekend, it’s safe to say he has never been a fan of the midfielder.
But this week, Fred has responded to the criticism he has faced from legends like Keane, insisting he believes they are entitled to an opinion but he disagrees with theirs.
Fred told TNT Sports: “They’ve had a lot of glory moments for United and now they get paid to give their opinion, so I’m fine with that.

“It’s their job and it’s their right. I don’t agree with that but it’s their opinion.
“I’m not confrontational, I’ve heard a lot of negative comments about me, always negative, but I won’t say anything back. My focus is on working on the pitch.”
Fred’s comments confirm what his teammates have made clear – that they don’t take Keane’s criticisms too seriously in the end.
Keane famously said of Fred and Scott McTominay: “As long as those two play in midfield for Manchester United, they’re not going to win big trophies.”
And McTominay had similar feelings for Fred when he was asked about Keane’s comments in the past.
The Scotland international was asked about criticism from Keane last year and replied: “What did he say?”
“I don’t see it, but it doesn’t matter. Everyone talked. Everyone has the right to an opinion and you must respect that.
“But I’m not going to spit my dummy out and cry over what Roy Keane said. If that’s what he thinks, then that’s what he thinks.
“For me, it’s not a TV series. I would be a fool if I went home worrying about what people thought of me. “
Even since 2019, United players have been on the same page about Keane in the face of his comments.
After finding himself in range, Paul Pogba told RMC Sport after the 1-1 draw with Chelsea : “No problem. They get paid to say things in front of the camera. I just focus on what’s happening on the pitch.
“They can say what they want, they get paid for it. I don’t get paid to speak. I get paid to be on the pitch and fight for my team. That is all.”
Fred’s latest comments simply confirm what has always been clear – that United’s stars try to distance themselves from Keane’s outspoken views as much as possible.
