Fred Savage dropped out of The Wonder Years reboot after complaints of misconduct


Fred Savage has been fired as director and executive producer of US comedy series The Wonder Years after complaints of misconduct.

Producer 20th Television said it was aware of allegations against the actor and was launching an investigation.

Upon completion of the investigation, the decision was made to terminate Savage’s employment, Deadline reported.

“Recently we were made aware of allegations of improper conduct by Fred Savage and, as policy dictates, an investigation has been launched,” the company said in a statement provided to the US Trade Journal.

“Upon its completion, the decision was made to end his tenure as executive producer and director of The Wonder Years.”

Further details of the complaints were not given.

The Wonder Years is a reboot of the original 1988 series that starred Savage as the protagonist Kevin Arnold.

He is also known for other television series, including The Grinder and Friends From College, and films such as The Princess Bride and Austin Powers: Goldmember.
