Soft, warm waffles that have just come out of the oven can be your go-to for breakfast without much effort. Portale is currently selling the frozen creations of pastry chef Kaity Mitchell. Let them defrost overnight and follow baking instructions, including adding milk or cream, and finish with the cream cheese frosting provided. The result is seven large, fatty pies that rise beautifully as they bake. You can also get creative: Add a scattered pecans; icing the icing with purple, yellow, and green garnish for Mardi Gras (March 1); or just use green for St. Patrick’s Day.
