A 19-YEAR-OLD who died in a truck accident was remembered as a ‘great boy with a great future’.
Finley Shephard was killed in a collision between a blue Ford Fiesta and a lorry in Steyning Road, Shoreham on July 3.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
After his death, numerous heartfelt tributes to the 19-year-old were shared on social media.
Denise Andrews called the incident a “tragedy”.
“He was a great boy with a great future ahead of him,” she said.
Linda Beale added: “Such a tragic loss. My heart goes out to Finley’s family and friends at this very sad time. I will always remember him as such a talented young man in English class.”
Meanwhile, another friend said: “What an amazing young man he was and a credit to his family.
“I cannot imagine the pain for the bereaved and I send all my warm hugs and time to mourn in peace. Words won’t help, but the support and love for the family is unconditional.”
An investigation into the fatal accident has been launched and a report is due to be drawn up for the coroner.
Police are appealing for information and footage following the incident, urging anyone who saw the vehicles in the area at the time, or with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward.

Steyning Town Community Football Club also released a tribute to Finley, who has played for the club since he was six.
He played regularly in youth before becoming a “scoring centre-forward who made a big impression on and off the pitch,” said a club spokesman.
He described Finley as “passionate, talented and wholeheartedly on the pitch”.
“Finley was bright, funny and intelligent. He was also a talented all-round athlete with a large circle of friends,” he said.
“He has three sisters who all play at the club and we’re sure his younger brother will be next.
“We will miss you Finley and as a club we will make sure we support your family and friends at this tragic time. You were loved very much and we will always remember you.”
