From poop in bed to rows of boots, look inside Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s toxic relationship
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are fighting in a $100 million lawsuit at the Fairfax County Courthouse in Virginia.
The 58-year-old actor is suing the 35-year-old actress for defamation of a 2018 article she wrote in The Washington Post which his attorneys said falsely implied he physically and sexually abused her.
The article does not mention him by name.
He says the allegations made it difficult for him to get the kind of roles he used to have and filed the lawsuit in 2019.
The seven-week trial has so far resulted in the couple’s tumultuous relationship being revisited for the jury, with both parties making explosive allegations.
Earlier this week, Johnny took the stand to testify while Amber is yet to testify.
Here we look at some of the most shocking moments of the trial so far:
Phew in bed
On Wednesday, Johnny spoke of the moment “human feces” were found on the sheets of his bed.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star said it happened after Amber had an argument with him about his being late arriving on her 30th birthday.
He told the court Amber went to the Coachella Music Festival in 2016 and that he returned to her Los Angeles home to pick up some items after leaving the house after the argument with Amber on her birthday and returning later.

Johnny told the court: “There was human feces on my side of the bed.
“I laughed. It was like that outside. It was so bizarre and so grotesque that all I could do was laugh.”
Depp has previously accused the actress or one of her friends of defecating in bed.
The actor said he reached out to Amber about a divorce not too long after. He said: “I think she understood as well as I did that there was no going back. I also felt like she would understand that it was for the best of both of us.”
Heard has denied it, blaming the mess on her teacup Yorkshire terriers.
Amber’s attorney, Elaine Bredehoft, alleges Tuesday that Johnny “penetrated Amber with an alcohol bottle” during a three-day “hostage situation” in Australia in 2015.
She told the jury: “He pinned her against the bar. He threw bottles and bottles at her. He dragged her across the floor on the broken bottles.
“He hit her. He kicked her. He told her he was going to fucking kill her and he fucking hates her. He hits her, hits her. And then he penetrates her with a liquor bottle.”
As she spoke, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor reportedly shook his head as if he disagreed with the claims made.
Depp’s spokesman has vehemently denied the claims.
In a statement, they said out of court, “These fictitious allegations were never made when Amber’s allegations began in 2016 and only surfaced favorably years later when she was sued for defamation after commenting in her comment that she was a victim of “sexual violence”.
“Words are key in a defamation case and conveniently this allegation came afterwards. This follows a pattern of her elaborate, flawed claims, which have continued to evolve and evolve over time for the purpose of Hollywood shock value, which Amber has mastered and evolved to exploit to exploit a serious social movement.”
On Wednesday, Johnny told the court about the infamous argument he had with Amber while traveling to Australia in 2015 when the actor was filming the fifth part of Pirates of the Caribbean.
Amber had previously claimed Depp abused her during that trip and described the time Down Under as a “three day hostage situation”.
The trip took place shortly after their marriage and Johnny said Amber had angry discussions about pre-marital arrangements and post-marital arrangements, and “banged on doors and yelled obscenities” as he hid in rooms in the huge rented house.
Johnny said he went to the bar, grabbed a bottle of vodka and poured two or three “stiff” shots, claiming that when Amber found him at the bar she “of course started yelling… ‘the monster’ and all that.” “.
He told the court Amber took the bottle and “threw it” at him and it smashed behind his head.
After taking another, larger bottle of vodka and pouring another shot, Depp told the court Amber “hurled insults” before taking the second bottle and throwing it at him.
He said the bottle shattered and the pieces of glass hit his finger and when he looked down he saw that the tip of his finger had been severed.
Depp said, “I was looking right at my bone… it was sticking out… blood was oozing out.”
In the moments after his finger was severed, he added, “It looked like Mount Vesuvius.”
Court testimony showed that Depp repeatedly called Amber a “c***” and once texted his girlfriend hoping her “rotting corpse would rot in the frigging trunk of a Honda Civic.”
“This c*** ruined such a cool life that we’ve had for a while,” the actor told friend Isaac Baruch in a 2016 text read by Heard’s attorney Elaine in court.
Speaking on the news, Johnny told the jury he was “ashamed of some of the references made.”
He said Tuesday: “I’m embarrassed that at the time the heat of the moment, the heat of the pain I was feeling, went to dark places. Pain needs to be treated with humor, something dark, very dark humor.”
rows of boots
Johnny also told the court how he felt their marriage was starting to fall apart after he took off his boots – something he claims Amber would do as part of her “routinary rules”.
He said when he got home Amber would take off his boots and bring him a glass of wine, but on one occasion he decided to take his shoes off himself while she was on the phone.
Johnny said: “One night I came home and she was on the phone, I took off my boots, suddenly Miss Heard walked up to me with this look on her face, she just said, ‘What did you just do? What have you done?'”
The actor told the court he replied that he took his boots off, to which he claims she said, “No, no, no, that’s my job. You don’t do it, I do it.
“Then she said, ‘Let me get you a glass of wine.’ I paused, of course, because she was visibly shaken or upset that I had broken her routine rules.
“Once you notice something like that, you notice other goodies coming out.”
Within a year of the alleged argument, Johnny said the actress had become “a different person”.
Amber is scheduled to testify at the trial.
Begging for medicine

On Wednesday, Johnny described what he considers the “lowest point of my life” moment after Amber took over his medication.
The actor said it happened in 2014 during a detox in the Bahamas prescribed by his private doctor.
Johnny said his ex-wife Amber came to the islands with him so she could be there when the medical experts weren’t available, like in the early hours.
Depp said: “It was physical. I hate to say it and I hate to admit it, but that was about the lowest point in my life.
“That was the deepest thing I’ve ever felt as a human being because I had to say please. Please, may I have the medication because it really works. She was adamant… it’s not time.”
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor said he begged her before rolling off a sofa and “sat on the floor crying”.
The process goes on.
