Grab the popcorn and pull up a bench. There are few things more compelling than a celebrity feud – especially one played out in an open space where every minute detail can be analyzed and studied.
Just two days after the High Court defamation trial between Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy began, embarrassing stories of an encounter between TV personality Peter Andre and phones falling in the North Sea have already surfaced.
Not to mention the fashion contest that takes place between the wives of the two footballers as they pull out some stunning ensembles for their daily court appearances for the trial dubbed “Wagatha Christie.”
But what is it that fascinates us about celebs airing out their dirty designer underwear in public, and what has stuck in our minds the most so far? We take a look back at the toxic feuds that made it all the way to court.
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard

Ms Heard has previously spoken at length about her difficult relationship with Mr Depp and detailed alleged physical fights and a sexual assault.
Mr Depp has claimed she was violent towards him and has also described an incident where she allegedly defecated in her bed after they had a fight in 2016.
Blac Chyna and the Kardashians
Though the rapper has a child named Dream with Rob Kardashian, that didn’t stop her from suing relatives Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner for $40 million over lost earnings and more accused m of having $60 in future earnings.
Blac Chyna, whose real name is Angela Renée White, claimed the famous family used their influence to tarnish their reputation and hamper financial opportunities after they “conspired” to cancel the second season of Rob & China.
After a two-week trial, the jury ruled that she would not be awarded damages, ruling in favor of the Kardashians/Jenners.
Blac Chyna has already announced that he will appeal the decision.
Britney Spears vs Jamie Spears
The star’s conservatory drama was one of the most high-profile legal battles of 2021, followed by an explosive documentary about the controversial legal arrangement that gave her father Jamie significant control over her life.
Last September, a judge finally released the pregnant pop star from the 13-year injunction and freed her with her €50 million fortune.
That wasn’t the end of her legal troubles, however. She claimed last July that her father Jamie was guilty of “conservatory abuse” and her attorney Matthew Rosengart confirmed his plans to investigate any abuse of the singer’s finances.
Britney has also continued to attack sister Jamie Lynn and mother Lynn, claiming they did not help her during her times of despair and isolation.
Meghan Markle against association newspapers
In October 2019, Meghan Markle filed a lawsuit against Associated Newspapers for publishing a handwritten letter between her and her father in 2018.
In the letter, she asked Thomas Markle to stop speaking to the media about her.
The Duchess and Prince Harry’s wife have claimed that these releases violated UK data protection law, misuse of private information and copyright infringement.
In December 2021, the court sided with Markle. She released a statement afterwards, saying: “What’s most important is that together we are now bold enough to reshape a tabloid industry that tricks people into being cruel and capitalizes on the lies and pain they bring.” cause”.
