While there’s not much you can do about rising fuel costs, there’s something you can do to get the most out of every liter.
A key area of cost savings can be your tires. I often view them as energy scavengers if underinflated or worn unevenly.
It’s amazing how much they can put a strain on your car and that means more fuel is used to cover the same distance.
Of course, it is important that you make sure you have the right tires on from the start.
Tom Dennigan, Head of Continental Tires Ireland, says: “We know from surveys in Ireland that drivers rarely think about their tyres, so we shouldn’t be surprised to hear that the vast majority of drivers here are concerned about the impact their tires have on their fuel underestimates economy.”
He says performing regular checks and making sure your car’s tires are performing as efficiently as possible will make a “significant difference”.
