Fulham have signed Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno for three years

German international goalkeeper Bernd Leno has completed his move from Arsenal to newly promoted Fulham after signing a three-year contract.

The Cottagers, who have an option for a further 12 months, have reportedly agreed a deal worth up to £8m for the 30-year-old, for whom the Gunners paid around £20m when they bought him from Bayer in June 2018 Leverkusen committed.

Leno, who lost his spot to Aaron Ramsdale last season, told FFCtv: “It feels great to finally be here. I can’t wait to join the team, train and play with the team.

“I am relieved that everything is settled. I’m just happy to be here. It took a little while but we made it in the end and that’s the most important thing.”

Leno, who had made 304 appearances for Leverkusen when he arrived in north London, has kept 37 clean sheets in his 125 appearances for Arsenal.

Fulham vice-chairman Tony Khan said: “Bernd Leno is the goalkeeper we have steadfastly pursued this transfer window and we are delighted that we have reached a transfer agreement and he is now fully committed to Fulham.

“He has played at the highest level and will bring that experience and leadership to our team. He will be a great addition [head coach] Marcos [Silva] team who are all looking forward to the coming season.” Fulham have signed Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno for three years
