AROUND 20 Omicron symptoms have been revealed to be the ones you are most likely to get.

This is not to say that there aren’t other ones that can pop up, but these have been reported the most by variant catchers.

They documented what they experienced in the ZOE Covid Study – with the top 5 remaining being runny nose, headache, fatigue, sneezing and sore throat.

But the other symptoms in the top 20 including hoarse voice, chills or shivers, brain fog, feeling dizzy, skipping meals and feeling depressed.

Symptoms appear faster than Delta, with a shorter incubation period.

People who experience Omicron symptom is likely to become ill within two years of exposure.

Professor Tim Spector said anyone with cold-like symptoms was most likely to have Omicron, with an average duration of about five days.

He said: “More than 50% of people with cold-like symptoms have been demonstrated by Covid PCR.

“It will be interesting if this changes when the schools come back.

“It shows that restrictions, social distancing, maybe wearing a mask have more effect on colds and flu than Omicron, even better at infecting us.

“It shows that these symptoms are of shorter duration than those of Delta.

“People have symptoms for a shorter period of time, especially during that first week.

“If people come back negative on lateral flow tests by the end of those five days because of that whole stage of infection and it’s likely to get through it faster.”

And a chief emergency physician at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center says they’re seeing symptoms that last three to five days for most people.

They are milder in vaccinated people, he said, with those affected mostly unvaccinated.

Dr Rahul Sharma said: “A lot of these patients are symptom free for the 10 to 12 days that I’ve seen without vaccination.

“What I can tell you is that the unvaccinated patients are definitely our sicker patients.

“Those are the patients who are more likely to go to the ICU. Those are the patients who are more likely to be hospitalized.”
