Funding an additional 1.4 million euros for cultural events in pubs, clubs and cafes

A scheme to encourage pubs and clubs to host more diverse cultural entertainment has received a €1.4 million grant.

Relaunched in June, the Night Economic Assistance Program has allocated €2.6 million to support off-peak entertainment venues around the country. Today, Minister Catherine Martin announced the extension of this program.

An additional €1.4 million has been allocated to the Night Economic Assistance Program, allowing more businesses to apply. Applications can now be submitted until August 10 or until funds are exhausted.

“The level of interest and enthusiasm for the Night Economic Support Scheme has been very high. The full spectrum of Night Economy businesses and venues have submitted innovative and exciting proposals to help stimulate nighttime activity in our cities, towns and villages right away. across the country,” said Minister Martin.

The goal of the plan is to increase the number of visitors to the pubs, nightclubs and cafes in our cities in the evening.

The Foundation supports businesses that track a range of at least four cultural activities. This can include music, comedy, dance, literature, poetry, theatrical productions, plays, crafts and art exhibitions.

Businesses can be granted up to €10,000 to provide artists with paid gigs and clients with a more diverse night scene.

“This program provides an opportunity for businesses and artists to work together to try something new and see what works for them and for their clients. I hope this helps build a more sustainable nighttime service across the country,” said Ms. Martin. Funding an additional 1.4 million euros for cultural events in pubs, clubs and cafes
