The funeral arrangements for Judy Rock, wife of Irish show band legend Dickie Rock, have been announced.
rs Rock, 75, was treated at St Vincent’s Hospital for several weeks after contracting Covid-19 but sadly died on Monday.
Judy’s funeral service will be held at 11.30am on Friday 29 April at the Church of the Annunciation in Rathfarnham.
A note on RIP.ie states that Ms Rock died “peacefully surrounded by her loving family” at St Vincent University Hospital.
The obituary read: “Beloved wife of Richard and dearest mother to Jason, John, Richard, Sarah-Jane and Peter.”
“Predeceased by her son Joseph. She will be sorely missed by her family, grandchildren Ben, Mia, May, Rueben, Noah, Rosie and Robin, brother Tony, daughters-in-law Ruth, Aisling and Sadaf, sister-in-law Maria, her loving cousin Polly, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbors.”
A person close to the family said the Dublin singer was “devastated by the loss” of his wife, who is in her 50s.
It comes as both Dickie and Judy contracted Covid-19 last month.
Dickie Rock (85) was doing very poorly and suffering from flu-like symptoms but was able to recover at home.
However, Judy required hospital treatment and was eventually placed in intensive care.
Dickie Rock and Judy Murray married in 1966 and have five children.
