Fury over Heroes adventure calendar as shoppers ‘want cashback’ on December 1 chocolates

CHOCOLATE fans were deeply disappointed to find a Cadbury’s Creme egg behind the first door of their Hero adventure calendar this year.
The “love-or-hate-it” chocolate was stoned by shoppers, who joked that Christmas would be “cancelled” following the disappointment.
The Heroes’ Adventure Calendar has a sweet little Cadbury gift behind each door, with December 1 featuring Creme Eggs in chocolate bar form.
During the 24-day countdown to Christmas, consumers will receive a range of different chocolates including Fudge, Eclair, Wispa, Dairy Milk, Crunchie and Double Decker.
But it got off to a bad start for some of Cadbury’s fans, who took to Twitter to complain about the December 1 disappointment.
Disgruntled customers claimed that divisive chocolate had “ruined Christmas”, jokingly asked if they had been “punished” and said the offending item had “goes straight to the bin”.
One Twitter user said: “Why is the first day of the Heroes’ appearance calendar Eggs. Obviously December is not a good month.”
“No, my first chocolate in the Hero spawn schedule is a Creme egg. I want a refund,” another joked.
Another added: “Got a Heroes spawn schedule. First door I opened was Creme Egg, day is over and Christmas is cancelled. It’s smoking.”
But some shoppers were delighted to find the chocolate behind the December 1 door.
“You know it’s going to be a good month when the first chocolate on your heroes’ calendar is Creme Egg,” said one satisfied customer.
Another Creme Egg fan added: “Thank god the fist door in the My Heroes calendar is a great thing because it’s either a joke or an Eclair that makes me want to cry.”
The Sun has reached out to Cadbury for comment.
This isn’t the first time the select box calendar has disappointed some customers.
The Christmas countdown got off to a bad start for chocoholic junkies with the Celebration calendar in previous years.
The first door reveals a Miniature Bounty bar in 2018 and in 2019, chocolate coconut is the treat for December 1 and 2.
Bounty haters got a break last year when they started the countdown with a chocolate Maltesers.
The Sun revealed last month there is no launch date for this year’s Celebrations.
We tested the chocolate calendars to find out which was the best value for money.
Some countdown festivals include just one of the brand’s festive treats – the rest are just standard milk chocolate.
If you don’t fancy eating chocolate all month, there are healthy options available or sweet flavored ones at the other end of the scale.
