Gadsme, the first in-game AdTech platform enabling performance advertising, raises $8 million in seed round

Gadsme, the only interactive AdTech platform delivering high-quality immersive brand experiences through in-game advertising, has secured an initial investment of $8 million just 11 months after launch. With investors including Galaxy Interactive and Ubisoft, Gadsme will use the funding to structure and invest in key individuals to scale the business in line with demand. With Gadsme, immersive ads are now delivered dynamically and its unique technical capabilities enable for the first time truly performing campaigns benefiting all advertisers across all platforms. To further increase their potential, Gadsme focuses its development solely on high-quality inventory and games.

With more than 3 billion gamers worldwide all spending long hours playing their favorite games, trillions of ad impressions are available. Unlike full-screen video ads or interstitial ad formats that can disrupt the gaming experience, Gadsme focuses on non-intrusive ad formats that are integrated, immersed, and native to gameplay. These ad formats run across all game genres, devices and geographies, and are highly sought after by brand advertisers who demand Gadsme’s guaranteed brand-safe environments and privacy-compliant targeting capabilities.

Gadsme was founded in 2019 by digital media experts Guillaume Monteux and Luc Vauviller, whose previous company miLibris was sold to Altice Group. The founding team trinity consists of ex-AppLovin VP Corporate Development, Simon Spaull, who played a key role in AppLovin’s monumental growth.

This seed investment has been strategically and selectively built from a pool of gaming and digital professionals who believe in Gadsme’s vision and who also bring a wealth of experience and focused expertise to further develop the product and customer experience. For Ubisoft, they first started working with Gadsme before securing a strategic investment in the business, confirming the market quality of the Gadsme platform and the opportunities the sector offers. The games market was recently valued at $134 billion, cementing games as the new media of choice for brands.

“For more than 2 years, we three co-founders bootstrapped the company to develop the most technically advanced immersive display solution. When some of the best gaming companies in the world agreed, we knew we were ready to raise the money to grow. For our seed round, we wanted to find partners who could bring extensive knowledge and expertise to our business. We not only provide capital, but real experience and knowledge in the very industry in which we operate. With Galaxy Interactive, Ubisoft and other major game company founders as shareholders, we are now ready to realize our vision.” Guillaume Monteux, CEO and co-founder.

The result of their collaboration is Gadsme: Built, tested and reengineered into an innovative core product, based on market-leading technology and now enjoying multi-million dollar investments from some of the best-known game publishers in the world, unrivaled industry support. Gadsme’s immersive SDK is already integrated with a number of premium game studios including Voodoo, Ubisoft, Tilting Point, TapNation and Lion Studios, providing brand safe and high quality ads to large audiences.

“We met different companies in the in-game advertising space, but Gadsme’s product and team really matched our beliefs and vision. Guillaume and his team are a perfect fit for our client portfolio and their attention to detail, unique approach and laser focused vision demonstrate what we believe is the right way forward. We are excited about the space and look forward to helping Gadsme in its quest to put gaming experience first to connect brands with passionate audiences. These intersections will continue to play an important role in this new digital frontier and we believe the Gadsme team can make a real impact,” he said Sam Englebart, CEO of Galaxy Interactive.

“Our cross-platform technology has been carefully engineered to provide studios with a long-term partnership to generate ongoing and new incremental revenue from their games. While in-game advertising has been an issue for more than 20 years, today we see a clear opportunity in the market to create something original and different that drives in-game sales and measurable brand engagement.” Simon Spaull, CRO and Co-Founder.

“Gadsme is the only in-game company in the world that can run performance advertising within games, giving all brands a unique opportunity to measure KPIs while attracting an audience in the games’ walled gardens, but also in the studios allows them to cross-promote to any other game in their portfolio. This is absolutely unique and an important new business opportunity for the gaming ecosystem. Our technology fully integrates branded advertising into the gaming experience with immersive ads that are dynamic and content-aware, providing positive experiences for players. We’re excited to see how the AdTech industry will evolve in 2022 and to be a key player in connecting studios and brands.” Spaul adds.

Gadsme’s product offers brands and studios alike the same high quality and positive experience. Its patented ad viewability technology is unique in the gaming industry, ensuring transparency and reliable reach for brands, while the combination of an intuitive self-service platform and smooth SDK integration has resulted in an overwhelmingly positive experience for developers. Developed in-house for over 2 years, Gadsme’s next-gen platform is Metaverse-ready and uniquely positioned to offer a variety of solutions to maximize results for advertisers and gaming studios alike.

Luc Vauvillier, CTO and co-founder adds: “We knew exactly how to develop our product to ensure stability and success. We’ve heard about the many technical challenges studios have previously faced with in-game advertising platforms. From the beginning, our goal has been to ensure our product is stable, reliable and fit for purpose. Our in-house architecture is ready for all future gaming and Metaverse advertising opportunities.”

Known for its technical excellence, Gadsme is now focused on delivering unbeatable returns to gaming companies and offering superior ROAS to advertisers.
