GAMESCOM is one of the biggest games fairs in the world where numerous big announcements are made for big upcoming titles.
We’ve rounded up all the news from Germany so you can find the biggest announcements for upcoming games in one place.
Buckle up because it’s a big one.
Everywhere, everywhere, everywhere
GTA boss Leslie Benzies presented the first trailer for Everywhere, a new game set in a mysterious and varied world.
The preview featured game footage alongside concept art and included comments from the development team.
Build a Rocket Boy, the studio behind the game, says it wants to create a “whole new world” for players to play and create in.
There’s no exact release date yet, but the Everywhere is coming in 2023 and we should expect more announcements about it soon.
New stories from the Borderlands
Telltale Games was known for its amazing episodic games based on popular franchises.
From The Walking Dead to Batman to popular fairy tales in The Wolf Among Us, Telltale has created a range of fantastic titles.
The first season of Tales from the Borderlands was released in 2014 and fans were hungry for more.
While a second season was rumored to be in the works, all of that was put on hold by the sudden studio shutdown in 2018
Telltale Games may be gone, but that doesn’t stop Borderlands developer Gearbox from developing a follow-up title.
New Tales From The Borderlands launches October 21st with fresh characters and a new story set in the Borderlands universe.
The upcoming game will be released for PlayStation, Xbox and PC alongside the original Tales from the Borderlands as a free bonus.
Developer Funcom unveiled Dune: Awakening, a brand new open-world survival MMO game set in the Dune universe.
The game will take place on the planet Arrakis, and the developers are drawing inspiration from both Frank Herbert’s novels and director Denis Villeneuve’s recent Oscar-winning film adaptation.
“Dune: Awakening combines the grittiness and creativity of survival games with the social interactivity of large-scale, persistent multiplayer games to create a unique and ambitious open-world survival MMO,” reads the official blurb.
No word on Dune Awakening’s exact release date, but we do know it’s coming to PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
PS5 DualSense Edge Controller
Well, this isn’t a game, but Sony has decided to surprise us by unveiling a new “Pro” version of its DualSense controller for the PlayStation 5.
Similar to the Xbox Elite, DualSense Edge has customizable buttons on the back. It also comes with interchangeable stick caps and the sticks themselves are interchangeable.
The controller allows you to save control profiles so you always have your favorite key bindings for your games.
The additional features and enhancements of the DualSense Edge are aimed more at hardcore or professional gamers who demand top performance and seek that competitive edge in fast-paced multiplayer games.
No details on price, additional color options, or launch date have been announced, but Sony will be making more announcements about the new controller soon.
The Callisto Protocol
We got an early glimpse of the Callisto protocol at Summer Game Fest in June, and we’ve had a few more since.

Gotham Knights developer WB Games Montreal presented a new trailer focusing on the villains in the game.
From this we learned that Harley Quinn and Clayface will be included alongside previously revealed super villains Penguin and Mr. Freeze.
Also, avid DC Comics fans will have four fewer days to wait as the game has received a new earlier release date and is now scheduled for October 21, 2022.
In the titular city, four of Batman’s best friends – Nightwing, Red Hood, Batgirl and Robin – team up to take on the Court of Owls after the death of the Dark Knight.
You can choose which of the four characters you play, each with very different playstyles.
While fans were disappointed that the Harry Potter-based game was recently pushed back to February 2023, hearts have been relieved by the latest footage.
This time we got a glimpse into some much darker moments of the game and a hint that players will resort to the dark arts with the infamous Crutiatus Curse.
While the great man himself won’t make an appearance in the latest game, you’ll have a chance to explore Hogwarts yourself as if you were a real wizard.
Fans were concerned as the release date was initially set for 2021 but was delayed twice to give fans the best possible game.
Pre-orders begin on August 25th, while the release is officially set for February 10th, 2023.
While 2D Sonic Origins was released earlier this year, Sonic Frontiers is the next 3D game in the franchise.
It hopes to reinvent the Sonic franchise much like Sonic Adventure did in the ’90s by bringing the blue blur to an open world.
Shown at Gamescom, the new trailer showed off both gameplay and a cutscene, trying to shed more light on the story of this latest reboot about the famous blue hedgehog.
A Japanese trailer apparently revealed a release date for November 8, 2022, a day before Gamescom’s official announcement.
Goat Simulator 3
No, you didn’t miss Goat Simulator 2. Goat Simulator 3 is the second game in the series just to confuse everyone.
The original 2014 game became a cult hit due to its jerky gameplay and crazy challenges.
Today’s Gamescom show revealed the first in-game footage featuring more of the same sandbox adventure plus seven multiplayer minigames.
We’re getting the new one this year with probably none of the bugs ironed out. Goat Simulator 3 will be released on November 17, 2022.

dead island 2
Dead Island 2 is an action role-playing game that has been in development hell for a while.
The movie trailer we saw at Gamescom proved that the game is alive and well and finally has a release date – February 3rd, 2023.
The gameplay footage showed the player using tankers as booby traps, a bunch of makeshift weapons, different types of zombies, and so much violence that they had to censor the video.
