Gardaí are asking for witnesses after a money robbery in Co Westmeath

Gardaí are asking for witnesses after a cash in transit (CIT) robbery in Co Westmeath yesterday.
At around 6.45pm a lone man approached an armored personnel carrier and threatened him outside an eastbound retail outlet on the N4 in Clongowney/Marlinstown, Mullingar.
A Garda spokesman said security was forced to leave the site before the van was left on the slip road between the N4 and R156.
None of the security guards were physically injured in the incident.
Gardaí in Mullingar is asking for witnesses to come forward.
They are particularly attractive to drivers with dash cams and those who provide video footage of the area at the time of the incident or with footage of the van leaving the area.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Mullingar Garda Station on 044 938 4000 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
