Gardaí have named the ten victims of the explosion that devastated the village of Creeslough in Co Donegal on Friday.
Those who died were named as follows: James O Flaherty, 48; Jessica Gallagher, 24;
Martin McGill, 49; Catherine O Donnell, 39, and her son James Monaghan, 13;
Hugh Kelly, 59; Martina Martin, 49; Robert Garwe, 50, and his daughters Shauna Flanagan Garwe, 5, and Leona Harper, 14.
Gardaín said the investigation is being coordinated from an interim room at Milford Garda Station.
The Garda Technical Bureau, with support from other authorities, will continue to investigate the crime scene, which remains cordoned off. These investigations are expected to continue in the coming days. Traffic diversions on the N56 at the scene of the accident remain in place.
A total of 10 deaths were confirmed in this deadly blast. The remains of the deceased are held at Letterkenny University Hospital, where, under the direction of Dr. Heidi Okkers, deputy state pathologist, the state autopsy was started.
These post mortems will continue over the next few days. Results are not published for operational reasons.
A man in his 20s remains in critical condition at St James Hospital in Dublin. The seven other surviving victims continue to be treated at Letterkenny University Hospital and remain in stable condition.
Among the 10 fatalities were four men, three women, two teenagers (one man and one woman) and a younger female child. Garda Family Liaison Officers have been appointed for the families and continue to provide support and information.
