Gardaí seize €1.1million worth of cocaine and make three arrests in an internationally-backed operation at Dublin Airport

Gardaí have seized €1.1m worth of cocaine and made three arrests in an operation at Dublin Airport.

Support was provided by law enforcement agencies in Germany and South America, Gardaí said today.

Tax officials were also involved in the swoop when they seized around 16kg of cocaine.

The seizure was a joint operation of the Garda National Drugs and Organized Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Revenue’s Customs Service.

Three men were arrested in the area around Dublin’s An Garda Síochána Airport in connection with this seizure.

They are currently being held at Blanchardstown and Coolock Garda stations under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act 1996, Drug Trafficking.

The investigations are still ongoing.
