GB News host Colin Brazier talked about his happiness at finding love again after his wife Joanna Roughton spent six years battling cancer in 2018.

Broadcaster and journalist Jo served as Sky News’ head of foreign news until her retirement in 2012 and her tragic death four years ago made Colin a widowed father of six. .

Meanwhile, the couple’s good friends – Mark and Olivia Warham – were going through similar grief of their own at the time, eventually seeing banker Mark pass away in the same year.

Colin revealed in an interview a year later that six months before her death, Jo instructed him to marry again for his own sanity – and that path led him to Olivia.

“We were thrown together,” the 54-year-old told Online email.

“Olivia and Mark were our friends and sadly, Mark died of cancer around the same time as Jo.

“We’ve been together through our grief and are very happy together now. Olivia has three kids and they get along really well with me, so that’s great.”

Broadcaster Colin first revealed the shocking news of Jo’s passing in a short, heartfelt message on Twitter.

He once wrote: “Jo Brazier. Wife. Mother. Friend. Passed peacefully on July 6, 2018.”

Just a few days earlier, the star had asked her followers to “pray” for her wife during her final days at a local hospice in Salisbury.

“Please pray tonight for my wonderful beloved wife, Jo Brazier,” he said.

Earlier, Colin detailed how his daughter, Edith, was forced to choose between her degree at Royal Holloway University and is staying with her terminally ill mother.

“Our eldest son is in his freshman year of geology college there.

“She enjoyed the course and did very well. She faced a difficult choice: drop out of school and give up all her work, or be away from her mother for the last few weeks of her life.

“Boldly and without prompting, she decided to pause her studies and start again in September.

“The university authorities were blunt to the point of insensitivity.

“They wanted to see proof of her mother’s illness and insisted that she leave the boarding room within the next few days.”
