WhatSAPP seems to be working on a new feature that makes it easier to exchange phones.
The new tool will let you quickly transfer your chats from your Android phone to your iPhone.
Until very recently, skip Iphone for Android or vice versa is very difficult for WhatsApp users.
It almost always means losing WhatsApp history, not ideal.
So instead of having a fresh start on WhatsApp, you can switch chats.
Sadly, it still doesn’t work in reverse. If you are switching from Android to iPhone, you will lose your chats.
But the WhatsApp executives at WABetaInfo discovered a new import tool.
This feature has been discovered in the new WhatsApp beta version 22.2.74 on iOS.
It means you can transfer WhatsApp Android history using Migrate to iOS app.
According to early photos of the feature, you’ll need to keep your phone open and unlocked throughout the process.
Sadly, it’s unclear exactly when the general feature will launch.
But you can learn how to sign up for the WhatsApp beta below if you want to test out the new features first.
Since the iOS to Android migration already exists, the reverse process shouldn’t take too long to appear on all phones.
WhatsApp’s transfer feature works on voice notes, photos, and chats.
And the app even maintains end-to-end encryption throughout.
“Your WhatsApp messages belong to you,” says Sandepp Paruchuri of WhatsApp.
“That’s why they are stored on your phone by default, and not accessible in the cloud like many other messaging services.
“We’re excited for the first time to make it easy for anyone to securely transfer their WhatsApp history from one operating system to another.
“This has been one of the most requested features by users for years, and we’ve been working alongside device and operating system manufacturers to address this.”
How to download beta version of WhatsApp
To download WhatsApp beta for your smartphone, you need to go to Google Play on your Android and search for WhatsApp.
Scroll down the page until you see “Become a Beta Tester”.
Click the “I Join” button and then click “Join” to confirm.
Now all you have to do is wait for the app’s beta update.
Joining WhatsApp beta on iPhone is more difficult and storage is limited.
