The Genshin Impact version 2.7 live stream has just ended. This includes all of the new content, characters, and limited-time events we can expect to see on May 31st when the update goes live. Titled Hidden dreams in the depthsit looks like we’re going back to The Chasm for an additional story that deals with the mysteries down there.

Genshin Impact Version 2.7: Quest
In version 2.7 we return to The Chasm. Along with Xiao, Arataki Itto and new characters Yelans and Kuki Shinobu, we head back underground into a mysterious new domain. In this new location, we’re uncovering more of what’s going on in this area and reuniting with our siblings in what promises to be a big story moment in the ongoing Genshin Impact narrative.

Genshin Impact version 2.7: Yelan character reveal and gameplay details
Yelan has been officially unveiled! As hydro arc users, we first saw them in version 2.6 of Genshin Impact sniffing around. You are something like a spy or secret agent in Liyue who goes out and finds information for Ningguang.
During the livestream, we see them hitting enemies with multiple shots and using their unique Dice Roll elemental ability to obliterate enemies. Eventually, over time, she will reach a Breakthrough State where her next charged shot deals additional damage. Her elemental skill, Lifeline, marks enemies she walks through. When the movement activates, they all take damage and are knocked up.
Her Elemental Burst is all about her magic dice. This deals a lot of hydro damage and summons the dice, which will then aid her in battle. Once on the field, they deal extra damage when you use their elemental skill, hit charged shots, and more! As such, you can see how they fit into the team as a great DPS character!
They also have a number of passive talents – including increasing their max HP based on elemental types in the party, plus increased rewards from Liyue Dispatches!
Genshin Impact version 2.7: Kuki Shinobu character revealed and gameplay details
Kuki Shinobu is the second character revealed during the stream! Playing second fiddle in his gang to Arataki Itto, you are an electrosword user who quickly dashes between enemies and deals great damage.
You are a support character that uses your electric sword to both heal and deal damage to party members while off the field. Her elemental ability, the Ring of Sanctification, damages her to heal other members over time while also damaging enemies over time.
Her elemental blast creates a field in front of her, dealing damage to any enemy within it! As such, you can switch to Kuki to knock this out, then switch back to your main damage dealers to continue the damage!
They also have two passive talents! The first to increase her healing bonus while being low on HP, allowing experienced players to be able to keep Kuki in a sweet spot where they offer their team the best bonuses on the brink of fainting. They also receive increased rewards from Inazuma Expeditions, so send them out whenever you can!
Genshin Impact Version 2.7: Wish Banner
Two phases of character wish banners were announced in the live stream. The first features Yelan as a five-star character alongside returning fan favorite Xiao, who will have his own replay banner in Phase 1.
In phase two, another new five-star character – Kuki Shinobu – gets her own banner alongside her accomplice Arataki Itto, who doubles as the replay banner.
Also, a new five-star weapon was briefly shown, which I’m sure suits Yelan perfectly. The Squa Simulacra will be available in version 2.7 via weapon wish banners, so save some gems if you want to perfect your secret agent!
Genshin Impact Version 2.7: New Events
There is a new event and an Archon quest Dangerous trail. It’s all about descending into the abyss and uncovering its mysteries in the Realms of Cunning and War challenge domain, which will throw waves of dangerous enemies at your party. You’ll also need to swap the members of your party between waves, so make sure you have plenty of leveled characters ready!
If you haven’t, trail characters are also available! This rewards a new bow and a variety of upgrade materials, so it’s a must-have once the update goes live!
In A muddy bizarre adventure, you need to use a special spike to remove the corruption from the abyss in the form of mysterious slime! By removing mud and killing enemies, you can protect this spike while it sends out waves of useful damage, removes enemy buffs, and so on.
This event can take the form of a standard defense mission, a balloon escort, and a high score battle challenge that offers a variety of rewards.
That Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival is another rhythm game event, this time with a drum! In it, multiple characters with their newly discovered instruments can take on custom music tracks for a variety of exclusive rewards! There are a range of difficulty levels and a custom beatmap editor so players can create their own music tracks for others to try!
Previous editions of this type of event have been a lot of fun, so we definitely recommend trying it out once it’s live!
The last event coming in version 2.7 is core of the apparatus!. In it, players must collect materials in three different stages. This will create a shiny new robot for your Serenitea pot. If you perform different actions in each step, you will get a different robot. So be sure to experiment if you want to collect them all!
