Genshin Impact Yaoyao Build: Best Weapons, Artifacts and Teams

YAOYAO is one of the newest playable characters introduced in Genshin Impact.
How you build her will depend on how you intend to use her, as she’s quite a versatile character.
She can be a healer by increasing her HP stats, or you can create Dendro Reactions with her Elemental Mastery.
Here is everything you need to know about how to build Yaoyao in Genshin Impact.
Best Weapons for Yaoyao in Genshin Impact
For a healing-focused build, go for something that gives you the maximum amount of extra HP.
Black tassel is a fantastic free option for this and suitable for a four-star character like Yaoyao.

If you have guns left Staff of Homa is the preferred option, but as a five-star polearm, you might want to save it for someone else.
However, if you’re using it as a sub-DPS, you should use a polearm with good Elemental Mastery.
moonpiercer is a great option for this, and is a craftable weapon with a passive effect that can boost a teammate’s attack.
Here are some other options if you focus on elementary reactions.
- Kitain Cross Spear (four star polearm)
- Dragon’s Bane (four star polearm)
Best Artifacts for Yaoyao in Genshin Impact
As with weapons, Yaoyao comes in two sets to choose from.
If you use her as a healer, Tenacity of Millelith is your best set.
Two pieces increase HP by 20% and four pieces improve a teammate’s attack and shield strength.
For a healing build, these are the stats to focus on.
- flower: HP (main stats), HP%, Elemental Mastery, Energy Recharge, Critical Hit Rate (secondary stats)
- Feather: Attack (main stat), HP%, Elemental Mastery, Energy Charge, HP (secondary stat)
- sand: HP% (main stats), Energy Recharge, Attack%, Critical Hit Damage, Critical Hit Rate (secondary stats)
- chalice: HP % (main stats), Elemental Mastery, Attack %, Critical Hit Damage, Critical Hit Rate (secondary stats)
- Ripe: Healing Bonus % (Main Stats), HP %, Elemental Mastery, Energy Charge, HP (Secondary Stats)
If you want to focus on reactions, Deepwood Memories matches Yaoyao.
The set will increase elemental mastery and decrease enemies’ resistance to Dendro.
If you want to use Yaoyao as a support for Nilou, we recommend Flower of Paradise Lost instead, as this set specifically amplifies bloom responses.
Here are the stats to focus on.
- flower: HP (main stat), Elemental Mastery, Energy Charge, HP%, HP (secondary stat)
- Feather: Attack (main stat), Elemental Mastery, Energy Charge, HP%, HP (secondary stat)
- sand: Elemental Mastery (Main Stats), Energy Charge, HP %, Attack %, HP (Secondary Stats)
- chalice: Dendro Damage % (Main Stats), Elemental Mastery, Energy Charge, HP %, Attack % (Secondary Stats)
- Ripe: Elemental Mastery (Main Stats), Energy Charge, HP %, Attack %, HP (Secondary Stats)
Best teams for Yaoyao in Genshin Impact
Yaoyao is quite flexible with her teammates as she can be used in different roles. As a dendro healer, she is a new option for Nilou teams.
- Nilu (Main DPS), Xingqiu (Sub DPS), Nahida (Support), Yaoyao (Support)
In this team, Yaoyao not only heals her teammates, but also provides off-field Dendro effect support and generates Dendro Resonance.
Xingqiu deals slightly more damage than Kokomi, making him the preferred option when paired with Yaoyao.
- cyno (Main DPS), fish (Sub DPS), Nahida (Support), Yaoyao (Support)
Here Yaoyao and Nahida will provide dendro off-field effects and resonance.
Fischl will be the battery for the team and will also generate Electro Resonance with Cyno, which will help everyone recharge their abilities.
Cyno needs strong reactions to perform at its best, which makes Yaoyao a great partner.
