Genshin Impact’s Shenhe gets a cool new character demo

It’s been a great start to the year The Genshin effect fans, because today we just received a new character demo for upcoming cyber weapon users Shenhe! This short video officially introduces us to the icy exorcist, giving us a fusion of cinematic and gameplay that gives us an idea of ​​what she’s all about.

The video (which you can see embedded below) begins with fellow exorcist Chongyun chasing an Abyss mage before letting his guard down. That’s where Shenhe steps in, using her Cryo avatar to block an oncoming ambush and take out trespassing enemies.

Diving into the gameplay a bit, unfortunately we don’t know much about it, but we were able to figure out a few aspects of her toolkit. As mentioned before Shenhe is an extreme cold weapon user, and we get a lot of footage of her knocking up enemies while they’re still frozen in place. Additionally, we get a small look at her cryo avatar used to dash through enemies, which can safely be assumed to be a staple of her attack set, giving give her a good crowd control gadget.

The community response has been a burst of positivity surrounding the latest look at Shenhe. Just take a quick glance at the game’s official Reddit and you’ll see top post about a specific moment between Shenhe and Chongyun, while the comments were filled with excitement surrounding the family relationship between the two.

For those excited to get their hands on this new addition to Genshin Impact’s cold cryo list, you won’t have to wait long: Shenhe will appear alongside Genshin Impact version 2.4 on January 5, as a part of the new treaty banner.
