Martin hopes that his world will continue to expand. He said The Hollywood Reporter:
“MCU has Avengers, but they also have unusual things like ‘WandaVision.’ That’s what I hope we can do with these other ‘Game of Thrones’ shows, so we can have more shows that showcase the history of this world. can compete for the Iron Throne.”
It’s good to hear. “House of the Dragon” is already enticing, despite the fact that the battle for that very uncomfortable chair is on, a third show about the same might be too much.
Martin has also reflected on his role as the creator of the franchise and compared himself to those who have come before. He explains, “Sometimes I sit around trying to figure out what the hell I am in this whole scenario,” referring to George Lucas, author of “Star Wars,” Gene. Roddenberry, the creator of “Star Trek” or Stan Lee, who gave us some of the biggest superheroes in the MCU, including Spider-Man. Martin wonders what his journey will be like, because those men have very different stories about how their extended universes expand.
