George Webster says being on Christmas special is ‘a dream come true’

CBeebies host George Webster said that as a lifelong Strictly Come Dancing fan, being on the show’s Christmas special was “a dream come true” real”.

The TV presenter, 22, said he watches the show every year and that being prepared for the episodes has “astonished me”.

Webster, who has collaborated with dance expert Amy Dowden, said he “loves every second,” including his gold dance outfit.

He will be joining this special alongside other famous faces including Alexandra Mardell, Nicola Roberts, Larry Lamb, Rickie Haywood-Williams and Rosie Ramsey.

“I felt so excited and ecstatic,” Webster said. It’s just so much fun, a dream come true. I just love everything monday, it’s amazing.

“I have always loved this show, I watch it every year and I remember when my sister and I danced around the living room downstairs while watching it on TV. And since then I’ve always loved the show.

“So when the call came in, I said ‘yes, yes’ right away. It blew my mind to really be here.

Dowden said her favorite part of the experience was “seeing the joy on George’s face every day” while filming and coaching, and said she didn’t want the partnership to end.

“Watching him progress as a dancer was amazing, and you know what, a dream come true when we got to do that strict Christmas special dance at Charleston.

He made history last year becoming the first presenter on CBeebies with Down syndrome, and he recently won a Bafta for his show.
