  • 1x 425g can of pumpkin puree (1.50€)
  • 600 ml boiling water
  • 2-3x tbsp coffee granules, must be strong, but really to personal taste (85p)
  • 3-4x tbsp soft brown sugar or maple syrup or a mix of both, again to personal taste (£1.30)
  • 2x tsp ground mixed spices (£1.85)
  • 400ml semi-skimmed milk (65p)
  • 1x tsp ground cinnamon (£1.85)
  • whipped cream (2€)

  1. Place the pumpkin puree in a large plastic or glass bowl and whisk, then microwave and heat for about a minute. It doesn’t have to be boiling hot, then keep warm.
  2. Pour the boiling water over the coffee and dissolve, then add the sugar and spices and mix well.
  3. Here’s the clever part, pour 200ml of the milk into a jam jar and screw the lid on tightly. Shake the jar vigorously for 30-45 seconds until it foams. Remove the lid and then heat the jar using a microwave set at 600 watts for between 15 and 20 seconds. Keep your eyes peeled, you can watch the foam rise to the top of the glass.
  4. Open the door, take out the jar and gently fold the foam and liquid together.
  5. Pour the hot pumpkin-coffee mixture into tall glasses, leaving 2-3 cm at the top.
  6. Divide the jam jar milk evenly between two of the filled glasses up to the rim.
  7. Repeat the process with the remaining milk and spoon it over the last two glasses.
  8. Dust with cinnamon and add a few pieces of fudge, whipped cream is an optional extra. Get a half price ‘Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte
