Ghislaine Maxwell can’t quash sex trafficking conviction

British Celebrities Gislaine Maxwell has failed to vacate her sex trafficking conviction for US financier Jeffrey Epstein on sex abuse charges.

New York Circuit Judge Alison Nathan said in a written ruling that the jury’s guilty verdict was https://www.independent.ie/ supported by extensive https://www.independent .ie/Testimonies and documentary evidence at a month-long trial that ended in December.

Maxwell’s attorneys had urged her to contest the verdict on a number of grounds, including insufficient evidence.

The judge also concluded that the juror “held no bias against the accused and was able to serve as a fair and impartial jury.”
