Ghislaine Maxwell complained about life in solitary confinement more than 100 times in 22 months, official documents show.
The disgraced British socialite, 60, moaned endlessly about her treatment in a New York prison while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
Ahead of her sentencing next Monday (June 28), Maxwell laid out her life while being held in “pre-arrest,” during which she was locked up in a 9-by-7-foot prison cell — a far cry from the lavish homes she’s been kept in lived while she was free.
After her arrest in July 2020, she was detained for 22 months.
As part of her bid to avoid the maximum sentence of 55 years, British judge Alison Nathan has submitted a 77-page “conviction memorandum” asking for clemency.

In it she describes allegations that prison guards subjected her to an ever-increasing number of “painful” and “humiliating” strip searches and body cavity searches.
Maxwell’s wardens also filmed her in the shower as they charted her daily routine.
Describing her arrival at the tough Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, her lawyers said: “When she first arrived at the MDC, she was handcuffed while she sat in a chair and watched television.
“During the first three months of detention, she was only allowed to make two 15-minute phone calls per month, further limiting contact with her family.”
It continued: “Ms Maxwell was denied adequate nutrition.
“She was fed meager, stale, often rancid and inedible meals in violation of her meatless diet and in packaging that melted when microwaved.
“Sometimes she was not given food for a long time or was given meals that were missing components.
“She was denied access to basic hygiene items such as soap, toothbrush, toothpaste and was only provided a limited supply of toilet paper.
“For more than a year, she brushed her teeth with an inch-long finger device until she got a regular toothbrush that was never replaced.”

Maxwell was convicted in December of five counts of sex trafficking and other crimes for recruiting and grooming teenage girls for Jeffrey Epstein.
She was found guilty of recruiting and grooming young girls for the sexual abuse at the hands of the American financier, who committed suicide in prison while awaiting trial.
With a maximum sentence of 55 years, she would be 115 years old when she was released.
During her pre-trial detention, Maxwell’s attorneys have repeatedly complained about the conditions she was subjected to.

Her brother, Ian Maxwell, said his sister is being subjected to what he says is “monstrous” treatment while in detention.
“It’s a really horrible experience. She’s lost 20 pounds, she’s losing her hair, she can’t concentrate,” said the 64-year-old.
“She keeps a flashlight in her cell every 15 minutes at night. So she’s not really getting a good night’s sleep,” he said.

He claimed her life was ruined by Epstein, that she was not part of his criminal enterprise despite what several women say, and takes the blame because someone had to do it and Epstein is dead.”
“She’s a scapegoat for Jeffrey Epstein who they lost under their watch and they’re taking it out on my sister and damn that’s wrong.
“She’s not Epstein. Epstein was guilty. He has time. And he’d have a heck of a lot more time. But she’s not him.
“And I don’t know how many more times I have to say it. She deserves to be treated as Ghislaine who is presumed innocent, go ahead with the defense, tell us what you have to tell us, put it up and then let the jury decide.
As the Mirror revealed last week, Maxwell argues she should serve less than three years for her sex crimes.
US sentencing guidelines recommend that they be sentenced to a maximum of 30 years and five months, while the Parole Service recommends 20 years.
But Maxwell wants that reduced to “51 to 63 months,” and she is entitled to 22 months’ time off for pre-trial detention.
A source told the Mirror: “If anyone is considering whether Maxwell’s treatment in prison was brutal, as her lawyers have described it.
“Many believe it was so hard because they allowed Epstein to die in prison while he awaited trial.
“They punished Maxwell for their own shit.”
