Ghostface arrives in New York in trailer for Scream VI

Ghostface arrives in New York in the trailer for the sixth installment of the Scream series.

The sequel, which stars returning stars Courteney Cox, Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, follows survivors of the original murder as they attempt to leave the town of Woodsboro to start over.

The minute-long teaser shows the group on a subway train and begins with the words: “In a city of millions, no one hears you scream.”

Seemingly set on Halloween night, their carriage is filled with people wearing masks and spooky costumes.

However, the space quickly began to overflow with Ghostface-masked menacing characters associated with the franchise, until one suddenly attacked.

Mason Gooding, Hayden Panettiere and Jasmin Savoy Brown are also returning for the film, which is a direct sequel to January’s Scream, rebooting the horror series after a decade-long hiatus.

Scream VI is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick, with original franchise creator and screenwriter Kevin Williamson returning as executive producer.

Neve Campbell had previously announced that she would not be returning to the role of Sidney Prescott because she felt unsatisfied with the offer the studio had made for her.

“I don’t feel that what I’m being offered is equivalent to the value that I bring to this franchise and have brought to this franchise for 25 years,” she told People magazine.

The trailer also confirms the film will hit theaters on March 10, 2023. Ghostface arrives in New York in trailer for Scream VI
