Creepy pictures of churches have surfaced, with believers claiming a miracle happened during Sunday mass.

St Joseph’s Church in County Mayo, Ireland, has been thrust into the spotlight after images of the bizarre incident went viral.

Pictures on Facebook show the pastor dropping a piece of sacrament bread on the floor, then picking it up and placing it in a glass of water to dissolve.

But when he came back, it was covered in a blood-like substance, he says Irish mirror.

The minister is said to have then added more water and let it sit again when he came back to find that it had “taken on the appearance of bloody flesh”.

Thousands of people reacted to a viral Facebook post about the incident, which took place when the vicar was leading Sunday mass at the church in Aghamore, near Knock, on June 19.

The post reads: “A Eucharistic minister accidentally dropped a consecrated Host while administering Holy Communion.

“The Indian pastor put it in a small bowl of water to dissolve. When he checked it some time later, he found that the water was the color of blood.

“He added some more water and then later saw that the host had taken on the appearance of bloody flesh tissue.”

History has sent people in droves to offer their opinions on the event, with some seeing it as a sign from Jesus.

“So empowering of our Lord’s true presence,” one person commented.

“Lord bless this world,” said another.

“That’s why I say no one should touch the Holy Eucharist unless their hands are consecrated,” said a third.

While others were unconvinced and speculated that the red substance was actually mold or that the photo was from a disproved miracle taken years earlier in Utah, USA.

St. Joseph’s Church has not responded to any inquiries and has not publicly confirmed the story.
