Gigi Hadid has pledged to donate proceeds from the current fashion week’s shows “to support those affected by the war in Ukraine”.
The catwalk star, one of the most famous models to appear at the fall and winter collections as they are released around the world, said she will also continue to support Palestinians who are suffering a lot.
Her father, real estate developer Mohamed Hadid, was born in Palestine and fled to Syrian refugee camps with his family as a child.
She wrote on Instagram: “Having a set Fashion Month schedule means that my colleagues and I often launch new fashion collections during these heartbreaking and traumatic times in history.
“We don’t have control over most of our work schedules, but we want to walk ‘for’ something.
“Following in the footsteps of my friend @micarganaraz, I pledge to donate my earnings from my Fall 2022 concerts to support those affected by the war in Ukraine, as well as continue to support those who are going through it. similar war in Palestine.
“Our eyes and hearts must be open to all human injustice.
“May we all consider each other as brothers and sisters, outside of politics, outside of race, outside of religion.
“At the end of the day, innocent lives pay the price of war, not leaders.

Hadid has appeared in catwalk shows for fashion labels including Versace, Moschino, Off-White and Vivienne Westwood over the past few weeks.
Argentinian model Mica Arganaraz, who has graced designers including YSL and Prada during month-long fashion shows, has pledged to donate her earnings amid the crisis asylum is taking place.
