Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice will forever be connected by their memories from getting serious to dancing.
Rose, who is known for playing Frankie Lewis on the BBC soap opera EastEnders, made history as the first deaf contestant to appear in the competition.
She was paired with Italian Giovanni, who was famous for being a finalist on multiple occasions – and for being linked to some of his past partners.
The duo are unlikely to have had an incredible spark from the start, which is reflected in their faultless and moving performance.
In week 6, the couple scored a perfect 40, the highest score ever achieved on the show.
The pair continued to go from strength to strength in the competition before progressing to the live final, which they ultimately won.

Not long after being crowned the winner, a giddy Giovanni immortalized his time with Rose with a tattoo to commemorate the 2021 series.
The professional dancer, who recently unveiled a new silver fox on Instagram, has a Glitterball trophy printed on his arm along with the date of his and Rose’s incredible win.
Giovanni made no secret of his desire to eventually win the show, and previously thanked Rose for ‘making all his dreams come true’ as they lifted the Glitterball trophy together in December .
“You became the best dancer, the best teammate. You are the dream Rose, thank you for everything,” he told her.

Along with marking his ink stains, Giovanni also revealed that he has a photo of himself and Rose dancing in his house.
The proud sitting position in Giovanni’s living room is a memento of their performances with Clean Bandit and Zara Larsson’s ‘Symphony’ – which they intentionally cut in the middle of the show.

Soap star Rose also made no secret of her liking for Giovanni.
In an Instagram tribute post, she told him: “@giovannipernice, I’m so grateful you’ve been a part of my sobering journey. Thank you for telling my story and for everyone who see who I am.
“Our friendship is special and sure to last,” she swore.
The pair found an easy way to stay in touch as they embarked on their Serious tour with their co-stars.
But proving they were friends off the dance floor, the duo continued to go solo to restaurants.
Their cozy outing continues a tradition they started during the BBC contest, where foodies delight fans with Instagram snaps and videos of their dinner together. together.
Rose’s boyfriend has even been invited to some get-togethers – quelling rumors that the actress and Giovanni are close behind the scenes.
A constant joke throughout the series, which follows them into the real world after Seriousness ends, will be the video of the winning couple sitting or eating together in silence, expressing great displeasure about the situation. this.
