Giovanni Pernice’s Seriously Revealed The Secret Behind Winning The Sparkling Trophy With Rose Ayling-Ellis

SHE won the glittering trophy after making “Serious” history as the first deaf person to appear on the show.

Now, Rose Ayling-Ellis and her professional partner Giovanni Pernice have revealed the secret behind becoming a champion.

Speaking at the start of the Serious tour, the dancers explained that they had a winning combination thanks to a “special connection” and didn’t feel pressured to be the best.

Giovanni told The Sun: “It’s about connection. It was good from day one.

“We understood each other. We didn’t have much pressure about winning the show.

“And I’ve been more comfortable teaching this year.

“We really work well together, we have a great connection. We respect each other.”

Rose added: “It’s about good communication and fun, that’s what makes such a good partnership and why we’re really good.”

Last week Gio, 31, revealed his tribute tattoo for EastEnders star partner Rose, 27, in tribute to them winning the show.

The pair was a huge hit in the 2021 series, and won the hearts of people across the country – and also made Glitterball coveted.

Giovanni’s newest ink celebrates their success and their growing friendship,

On Instagram, the Italian guy shared his new tattoo with his followers.

The ink has a strict Glitterball trophy with “SCD” written on it.

Then underneath it is the date of the show’s finale on December 18.

He wrote in a caption alongside the image: “We are champions, we are champions”.

Giovanni also tagged Rose in the post as well as writing: “Welcome home!”

Meanwhile, earlier this week, The couple gave fans a glimpse of what life on the serious tour is like.

The hilarious duo shared a series of clips as they frolicked backstage during a dress rehearsal.

Giovanni told his followers: “Getting dressed is going well.”

The 31-year-old then turned to Rose and said: “It’s been a pleasure to dance with you again.”

The EastEnders actress replied, “Yes, it’s nice to dance back and it brings back happy memories.”
