Glastonbury viewers stunned by the ‘ageless’ TLC team who bring back some ’90s nostalgia

Glastonbury festival viewers shared their amazement at the fact that the members of iconic R&B group TLC have “not aged at all” since the height of their fame more than two decades. before.

The Grammy Award winners – whose hits include Waterfalls and Unpretty – performed on the West Holts stage at the annual festival at Worthy Farm in Somerset on Friday night.

Although best known as a trio, the group currently consists of Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins, 52, and Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas, 51 – third member Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes has died a tragic death catastrophically in 2002.

The duo took to the stage at Glastonbury in the afternoon – where they performed the chart-topping song No Scrubs, which was originally released by the famous trio in 1999.

Watkins and Thomas appeared on stage in coordinated metallic silver outfits, reminiscent of the style the group wore in the music video for the award-winning song.

Audiences loved the group’s flashback show, with one festival attendee tweeting earlier: “TLC really brought the crowd to the West Holts stage today.”

And BBC audiences also enjoyed its ‘nostalgia’, with one saying: “[It’s been] easily the best by far. “Another said it was ‘the real savior of the night. ”

However, some viewers were given a chance to comment on how Watkins and Thomas looked, with one fan tweeting: “How has TLC not aged in the last 25 years?”

Another said: “Watch TLC at #Glastonbury and realize those girls don’t age 25 years old!” A third said: “Last comeback. And they don’t look like they’ve aged at all.”

“Whatever their secret is they better bottle it and sell it,” another viewer tweeted. While the fifth said: “Unpretty is an absolute and like TLC, doesn’t age a day.”

One fan asked: “How come these women don’t age?” Another commented on their set: “They look great. Sounds great.” One fan said in a tweet: “They look amazing.”

TLC is best known for their second album CrazySexyCool and subsequent FanMail, which were released in 1994 and 1999 respectively. Both had chart-topping songs.

The former includes both Creep and Waterfalls, while the latter’s watchlist boasts No Scrubs as well as Unpretty. These four songs all topped the charts in their home countries of the United States.

The group was working on their fourth album, 3D, when member Lopes died tragically in a car accident in 2002.

Watkins and Thomas decided not to replace Lopes in the group, instead they continued as a duo. After a hiatus, their latest album, titled TLC, was released in 2017.
