Gmail is adding an important new feature that will ensure you never miss a package delivery again

WAITING for online shipments to arrive is now much easier to track.
Google has built a nifty tool into Gmail that gives you updates on where your package is, right in the app.
Package tracking and delivery information is now prominently displayed in your inbox list view.
A more detailed summary card is also displayed at the top of each email, eliminating the need to look at each courier company’s website.
The notification fields show things like “Arrive tomorrow” or “Delivered today”.
The new feature comes just in time for the holiday glut of gift packs.

But unfortunately not all of us will be able to benefit from it yet.
Currently, Google only releases it in the US.
The tech giant says it will launch “in the coming weeks” and should be available to “most” major US carriers.
You must be logged in for the tool to work.
A notification should appear at the top of your Gmail inbox whether you’re on desktop or mobile.
It says: “Google can check for package status updates from carriers.”

You must select Allow for it to take action.
Or you can dismiss it by tapping the Not now option.
