GMB: Adil Ray sarcastically claps for Rishi Sunak
Good Morning Britain today presenter Rishi Sunak sarcastically clapped Rishi Sunak’s hand after the Prime Minister compared it to Will Smith and joked “at least I didn’t slap anyone”.
The Tory MP has complained that his wife Akshata Murthy is not “fair game” after closely monitoring her stake in a company operating in Russia.
He went on to compare himself to the Hollywood star, who slapped comedian Chris Rock at the Oscars for teasing his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
After seeing the clip of the Prime Minister’s remarks, Adil told co-host Kate Garraway: “It’s good he didn’t hit anyone.”
“I’m sure a relief to everyone!” Kate exclaimed.
“Good job, good job,” Adil said sarcastically before clapping his hands.

Last week. Mr Sunak spoke to the BBC Newscast podcast and said: “Someone said, ‘Joe Root, Will Smith and I – not the best weekends for any of us.’
“But I feel, in hindsight, both me and Will Smith were attacked by my wife – at least I didn’t get up and slap anyone, which is fine.”
Mr. Sunak faced questions about his wife’s business following the Spring Statement last week.
Ms. Murthy owns a 0.91% stake in Infosys, an IT company founded by her father NR Narayana Murthy, which continues to operate from their Moscow office.

Her stake is now worth £430m, while the family holds a total stake of £2.7bn in Infosys – up from £1.7bn last reported in 2020.
Mr. Sunak told the BBC: “You know, I think it’s perfectly fine for people to take pictures of me. It’s fair game.
“I’m the one sitting here and that’s what I signed up for.
“I’m really upset and, I think, it’s wrong for people to try and attack my wife, and you know, also, towards my father-in-law, whom I have nothing but pride in. great pride and admiration for everything he has achieved.
“No amount of smear effort can make me change that because he’s amazing and has achieved a ton of money, like I said, I’m incredibly proud of him.”
