GMB’s Alex Beresford ‘phoned to the Police’ after being targeted by racist trolls

Good Morning Britain’s Alex Beresford called the police after he was subjected to ‘vile’ racist abuse on Twitter.
The former resident weatherman, 41, reported an incident to Met Police last month after he was targeted by trolls, Online report by mail.
It came a week later Alex shared an insulting tweet aimed at him on Twitter after he was replaced by Laura Tobin.
An insider source told MailOnline: “He’s received so much hate on Twitter and after this particularly despicable comment, he’s decided to go see the police. They’re looking into it.”

“Alex called a lot of these people out and tried to embarrass them but it got to the point where they had to be investigated by the appropriate officials.
“The level of abuse for him was extraordinary, it was a disgrace. Like many celebrities, he would have suffered a lot but it got to the point where something serious needed to be done. now and the authorities must step in.”
Last week, the official GMB Twitter account posted a video of Laura giving a presentation about the weather, but one mouth-watering hater took the opportunity to curse Alex his way.

Alex took a screenshot of the appalling comment, which read: “Thank you for coming back, can’t stand it [unrepeatable]. “
The Bristol-born presenter didn’t hesitate to call out the racist, saying: “Andrew, you made a typo there!”
Fans were appalled by the abuse and reported it on Twitter, but the social media outlet insisted the comment did not violate their safety policies.
It read: “After reviewing the information available, we would like to let you know that @AndrewH1508 did not violate our safety rules. We know this is not the answer you are looking for. . If this account violates our policies in the future, we’ll notify you.”

Fans were shocked when Twitter took no further action, with one user replying: “From… let me down. How is this still allowed here? Why isn’t it allowed here? stamped at source? So sorry you have to put up with this Alex.”
Another said: “Reported. Very sad that people are still suffering with this level of hatred.”
Alex was unfortunately the subject of racism during his time on GMB and has shared about his struggles in 2021.
He has previously clashed with former Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan over Oprah Winfrey’s interview with Meghan and Harry.
Piers eventually left the GMB address amid a change they had that led to his resignation and Alex spoke about the experience in an article for The Telegraph.
He said he was “forced away from Twitter and Facebook” because the abuse from users was “too much”, despite the fact that he was a “strong person” but “not of steel”.
