GMB: Richard Madeley slammed into an online clash over NHS ‘ghost’
Good Morning Britain’s Richard Madeley joined the ITV Wednesday morning show in a chat about funding from the National Health Service.
The 65-year-old ITV presenter sat with Kate Garraway and was joined by journalist commentators Kevin Maguire and Andrew Pierce on set, as well as Dr Hilary Jones.
Presenter Richard posed the question of “whether the vast site called NHS needs root and branch reform”, Kevin immediately raised the issue.
He replied, “It’s a shame to call it a rampant mega-website. That’s how people started to demonize it and take it down.”
Kevin then went on to refer to a report showing that catastrophic failures at Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Hospitals Trust contributed to the deaths of hundreds of babies over 20 years.

He continued: “I will not apologize for the mistakes made in Shrewsbury and Telford during maternity services, but it is a precious public service.
“It is a matter of life and death for some people. I wouldn’t say it all runs fine, but you need it. “
Then he added to Richard: “I just think your language there exemplifies it.”
But the ITV presenter later replied that he would put himself “in the spotlight”, telling Kevin: “If someone like me, doesn’t have an agenda, would say, it’s time for them to. We start to see what it’s like. funded, later saying it put the NHS off discussion. “

Kevin then turned around and said, “Okay, okay, when you say that, what do you mean? Pay separately? ”
Richard turned around and said, “I hope not,” Kevin replied, “So then it’s going to be taxed.”
This comes after Richard yesterday on Good Morning Britain was criticized after questioning why rape is a weapon of war.

The presenter discussed the latest horrifying allegations that the Russian military has used rape as a ‘weapon of war’ against Ukrainian civilians.
The UK’s ambassador to Ukraine said yesterday she was aware of reports of women and girls being raped in front of their families, describing it as an “act of willful submission”.
Kate and Richard were joined by Chip Chapman, former British Senior Advisor to US Central Command, who offered his analysis of the situation.
After discussing the heartbreaking testimony uncovered by human rights groups, Richard asked: “Chip, we said something that was widely reported this morning that rape is used as a weapon of war. How is rape a weapon of war?”
Good Morning Britain airs at 6am on weekdays on ITV.
