Goat Simulator 3 ad banned for showing footage from GTA 6

A NEW advertisement or Goat Simulator 3 has been banned after it contained stolen footage from Grand Theft Auto 6.

GTA developer Rockstar Games was hit by one of the gaming industry’s biggest security breaches earlier this year.

The perpetrator managed to steal and upload nearly 100 videos of the game, which is currently in early development, before publisher Take-Two had them removed.

Still, a large number of people were able to view the footage before it was removed, and many even downloaded it onto their own computers.

Because the footage was acquired illegally, it is illegal to distribute it in any way.

That didn’t stop the marketing team behind Goat Simulator 3, however, who previously created a viral ad campaign by parodying the Dead Island 2 trailer.

Goat Simulator 3’s latest campaign featured Shaun, one of the game’s humble human NPCs.

Shaun finds himself in a series of strange situations before finding himself on the set of GTA 6, using the real footage stolen in the hack.

It wasn’t long before Take-Two sent out the ban hammer, and very few people saw the ad online.

However, the team behind the trailer were probably hoping people would take notice to stimulate sales ahead of the holidays.

The original Goat Simulator became a cult hit due to its many fun bugs, weird quests, and weird ragdoll physics.

Goat Simulator 3 offers more of the same, but in a fresh new sandbox with new strange secrets to discover.

The Goat Simulator series isn’t known for having the deepest games, but they do offer silly, family-friendly fun.

While we can’t recommend using stolen footage from one of the biggest gaming companies to promote your game, it seems to have caught the attention of fans.

Hopefully the publicity this stunt deserves outweighs pesky Rockstar Games and big publisher Take-Two.
