The sheriff praised a goat that joined the police chase and helped officers track down a suspect on the run.

The goat, named Gracie, helped two congressmen uncover the suspect after being told he was under arrest and on the run while walking in the Fieldale, Georgia, area.

Deputy David Parnell caught the suspect on February 13 while investigating a case domestic attack.

He then chased the suspect over a fence and across a field – when the goat joined from a nearby plot.

Dept Parnell and his surprise ‘colleague’ then reached the next fence and the lead goat gave chase and followed the suspect into the woods.

Dept Parnell then assessed the situation, while the goat and another deputy caught the arrested man, reporting Martinsville Newsletter.
