God of War Ragnarok: The Applecore Water Puzzle Guide

GOD of War Ragnarök has a huge world to explore, and many of the areas have puzzles for you to solve

The Applecore water puzzle is one of the more difficult ones and may take a while to figure out.

You have to solve the puzzle twice, and the second time it’s a little different.

Here’s how to freeze your way through God of War’s Applecore to reunite with your boy.

How to solve the water wheel puzzle in search of Tyr

Once you get far into the mines and look for Tyr, you’ll find a large gap and a claw underwater.

Above you are also a series of troughs and water wheels.

Look for a wheel on the left and throw your ax at the trough directly above.

This will raise the claw allowing you to move over the cap.

If you’re in this area with your back to the lift, you’ll need to throw your ax again to freeze a trough up and to the left.

This will bring the elevator down so you can enter. If you recall your ax it will go up again.

There’s a similar puzzle further down the Applecore, but Atreus will be on a switch and will need to help you.

You still have to freeze a series of troughs to help him.

Freeze the trough on your left, just in front of the water wheel you are next to.

Atreus will then pull a lever that will send some ore deposits towards the ice.

This ore stays there even after you recall your axe, so you can recall it and aim it elsewhere.

Freeze the trough on the right that is level with the water wheel on the right.

This will raise the claw in front of you so you can reach over it.

Tell Atreus to fire sonic arrows at the ore blocking the first trough you frozen in that area.

This allows the platform to move, allowing you to meet up with your cub.

Once that’s done, you can both continue your quest to find Tyr.
