Gogglebox star Marcus Luther has a famous son – but he can’t be on the Channel 4 show

Gogglebox: Marcus helps Mica put on jeans

Gogglebox fan favorite Marcus Luther has shot to fame since appearing on the popular Channel 4 show alongside her partner Mica Ven.

Armchair critics have often riled viewers up since they first debuted on the show in 2018, but while the pair are a familiar sight, their children are mostly not appear on the screen.

The couple share a son, Yash, while Mica has two daughters, Sachelle and Shuggy, from a previous relationship, who have appeared on Channel 4 shows in the past.

Meanwhile, Marcus has a 22-year-old son, Shiloh Defreitas, also from a previous relationship.

But many viewers may not know that Marcus’ son, Shiloh, has a different fan base than his father’s Gogglebox popularity.

Shiloh has pursued a successful career as a boxer, going by the name Sugar Shy, and has appeared in fights at the O2 in London.

Shiloh has tens of thousands of followers on social media and has also posted videos of him working out with his dad Marcus.

Marcus is a boxing trainer and gym owner who founded TM Boxing Gym in 2009 to work with disadvantaged young people in their local community.

“The main focus of the gym is on working with disadvantaged youth from the local community,” says Marcus’ business website. We then continued our public runs into the evening as interest quickly grew.

“TM Boxing then started offering morning workouts to stay-at-home moms and people with weight and confidence issues. We now have more than 200 bodybuilders, 80 boxers and many disadvantaged youth education schools that use our services on a daily basis. ”

Marcus oversaw Shiloh’s successful boxing career in which he entered the ring with over 85 fights.

Speaking to the BBC earlier this year, Marcus said: “I was known for Gogglebox but now people will see that I don’t just enjoy sitting on the sofa. I’m in boxing and it’s been years.”

He continued: “Shy told me he would never let me drag him out of a fight and would rather die in the ring – but he is my child. He doesn’t want me to throw the towel at him but am I going to sit there and watch my son potentially die in the ring? We love the sport but I will always choose my boy over boxing, any day of the week. ”

Shiloh said that he tried using Gogglebox once after a request from the manufacturer, but was unsuccessful. Marcus said BBC : “Gogglebox is not for everyone. Not everyone can ‘Goggle’. He’s too aggressive.

“Me and him just had an argument so I told him to pickpockets. The producers tried to help him but then he continued. There’s no Gogglebox for him, he’s a fighter. ”
