GoggleBox: Shirley criticized for ‘joking’ prank with Dave

Gogglebox viewers were shocked Friday night after Shirley Griffiths made a rather explicit comment towards her husband Dave.

The pair are back on our TV screens as the much-loved Channel 4 returns for another episode, which sees the stars snap up to a flurry of shows.

Dave and Shirley were watching the first episode of Oti Mabuse’s new dating show Romeo and Duet, when Shirley decided to give fans an insight into their personal lives.

When they watched a matrix explaining a particular technique, Shirley explicitly joked about Dave’s private parts when she told him: “You’re not going to be good love, because you don’t have a butt , right?”

Viewers were shocked by the comment, with one person writing on Twitter: “Why does Shirley always insult her husband on national TV? #Gogglebox.”

Another shocked viewer posted: “NOT A FAMILY WOMEN ANNOUNCING HIS HIM NO CREATION TO THE WORLD #Gogglebox.”

And a third tweeted: “You’re not going to be good love, because you don’t have a butt, are you?” OMG Poor Dave #Gogglebox. “

Another said: “Shirley is a barbarian ——. Poor Dave # gogglebox.”

And another viewer tweeted: “Poor Dave! The fact that he’s ‘without a butt’ has just been revealed to the whole country! #Gogglebox.”

In another twist on Friday’s episode, the cast was dropped after they sat down to watch a new Apple TV+ series called Roar.

In eerie clips shown on the Channel 4 show, the cast of Gogglebox can be seen gazing forward and wincing as a woman has sex with a duck.

The episode shown is called The Woman Who Was Fed By A Duck and focuses on a woman who begins a romantic relationship with a talking animal.

The cast of Gogglebox was less than impressive, and Giles even called the show “the worst thing I’ve ever seen on television”.

And viewers clearly agreed as one person posted: “Gogglebox shouldn’t be promoting shows that are basically allusion to the beast. That’s absolutely disgusting and not funny at all.”

Another tweeted: “I’m really concerned with the producers and writers of Roar. Those guys aren’t okay.”
