Gogglebox: Mica Ven criticizes Homes plan for Ukraine

Gogglebox’s Mica Ven has been praised for her criticism of the government’s Houses for Ukraine plan.

More than 100,000 people have applied for asylum amid the ongoing conflict in the country, after being invaded by Russian troops last month.

Households have been offered incentives to accept refugees, including being paid £350 a month under the new scheme, which Housing and Communities Minister Michael Gove said will help “those who are most vulnerable. hurt most in their darkest hours.”

During Friday’s episode of Gogglebox, Mica and Marcus were shown a clip from BBC News in which the House for Ukraine plan was praised.

“Not funny at all, this is not the first refugee situation, you know what I mean? How is it that there are now only incentives to encourage people to help refugees? ‘ she asked her partner Marcus.

Viewers were quick to heap praise on Mica for her unfiltered comments, as they thanked her for “telling the truth”.

“Congratulations to Misha for pointing out hypocrisy regarding refugees. #Gogglebox,” one person tweeted.

“Yes, Mica. Continue. Why do you think such a program applies only to Ukrainian refugees? #Gogglebox,” a disgruntled viewer smoked.

Mica also took to Instagram and shared her clip from Gogglebox, further explaining her comment in a passionate post.

“As black, it is very easy to come to my own conclusions on this, but I can be open to if someone can make this reasonable. If not, I will continue to think it has something to do with race,” she wrote.

She then targeted the government’s incentive scheme, when she launched “small” amounts of money given to families to build homes for refugees.

“Anyway, a BIG hello to those in the Gang who are ready to expand their homes, I salute you guys honestly, cause I know it must be a good heart cause I didn’t know £350 could be do for anyone in their expensive times,” added Mica.
