A GOGGLEBOX star has apologized for dragging a woman into an exclusive club’s swimming pool after being pushed in himself.
Stephen Webb was pushed fully clothed into the pool at Brighton Beach House by a friend, The Sun reported.
The 50-year-old then grabbed a woman sitting nearby and pulled her in as she struggled in the water, gasping for air.
After the incident at the members-only club – the first Soho House to open in Sussex – Stephen told The Sun he was “very sorry if she felt upset or hurt by my actions”.
“It was never my intention,” he said.
“I was swimming and after I dried off and got fully dressed, a friend pushed me back into the pool.
“I took it in very good spirits and everyone was laughing and joking when I saw his girlfriend sitting on the edge of the pool she pulled her into the water with me by the waist.
“We had a really good time together and I felt like that was all part of the fun.”
The woman is said to have sat next to the banana-shaped pool with Stephen’s husband Daniel Lustig, 47.
Stephen, who lives in Brighton and runs a hairdresser with Daniel, rose to fame as a regular on Channel 4 show Gogglebox.
Brighton Beach House occupies a Grade II listed terrace on Madeira Drive, overlooking the beach near Brighton Palace Pier.
Club facilities include a retro-style terrace overlooking the sea, a flagstone bar and Soho House’s own Venetian-inspired restaurant, Club Cecconi’s.
Those wishing to enjoy some of the new venue’s facilities will need to apply for membership to Soho House, which can cost upwards of £200 a month with a one-time £500 registration fee.
Founded in 1995, Soho House operates clubs around the world in a number of cities including Barcelona, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Mumbai and New York.
