Good Morning Britain staff ‘threatened to boycott the show’ after hearing Piers Morgan was in talks to return as a guest.

A year after storming live on air during an argument with weather presenter Alex Beresford, 41, over Meghan Markle, 40, the former co-host, 57, wanted to appear to promote promote his new series.

But when the team heard he was being lined up to return, some warned they would be “down geared”.

ITV bosses rushed to come up with a compromise – they made him a guest star on Lorraine Kelly’s show instead.

An insider commented to The Mirror: “Piers has made it pretty clear what he thinks of GMB since his ascent.

“Only a day goes by without him noting that the ratings are going to drop and that he’s the best thing about the show.”

“So it’s not surprising that there are some who feel reluctant to promote his new gig and threaten to shut it down if he continues. There’s also a lot of loyalty to the show. Alex,” they said.

Morgan passed away last March after a heated exchange with Alex, who was so outraged that the 57-year-old didn’t believe Meghan’s claims she had felt suicidal.

ITV bosses later removed Piers from the show when he refused to apologize for the comments. Since then, he claims his decision to step out was to avoid Alex’s “slap”.

ITV sources claim it was an “editorial decision” for the former GMB presenter on Lorraine and removed threats of a walk.

One said: “They’ve been friends for 30 years and also featured on GMB together so it’s supposed to be a great fit.”

The journalist’s new show, Piers Morgan Uncensored, premieres Monday night on TalkTv with a premiere interview with Donald Trump.

Advertising for his new show this week, Piers invited Meghan to a sit-down interview with him, in an attempt to reconcile with her. He made suggestions about Diary of a CEO audio file.

The presenter will ask her “hard” questions if given the opportunity to interview her, making sure he doesn’t want her or Prince Harry to have any “harm”.

He said: “If she did an interview like this with me, it would be very interesting. Meghan Markle for me has lost all sense of reality about life.”

He added: “She needs to sit with someone like me, not an Oprah Winfrey allow your interview, promote your victimhood. She needs someone to make her point.”

Prince Harry and Meghan sat down with Oprah for a tell-all interview about their separation from the Royal Family last March, with the royal sharing that she had suffered from “suicidal thoughts” and suffered Allegedly she was denied help by the Royal Family during her private time. Fight.
